"Still Great After All These Years," A Milano Restaurant
Review
"I recently moved back to the Albany area after a few years living downstate and I was thrilled to find Milano restaurant in Latham still going strong. This restaurant had been one of my favorites. When my family and I dined there, we were always careful to be sure that someone ordered a pizza, someone a pasta and at least one risotto, so that we could each share and try a little of everything. It was always excellent.I'm happy to say that we went again last week and the food was better than ever. I had a salmon perfectly prepared and my husband had a pizza that was heavenly. We also love the ambience; the open kitchen which is fun to watch and the fast and effecient service. It's nice to be back home!" -NYTaylor
About Our Owner/Executive Chef
Masterful at creating new and exciting
cuisine, as well as traditional fare, Daniel Darves-Bornoz is
owner/executive chef of Milano Restaurant and Provence. Trained in
Paris, and Brittany, France, Daniel refined his skills under master
chefs for three years. Upon returning to the states, Daniel
continued to perfect his talents in New York City and San
Francisco.
Ultimately settling in Albany, NY, Daniel opened Milano Restaurant in 1991, specializing in Northern Italian cuisine, and in 1999, launched Provence Restaurant, a French restaurant featuring French and Mediterranean cuisine served with both traditional and contemporary touches. The opening of Provence allowed both restaurants to expand their wine program, each with the distinction of being awarded the Wine Spectator Award of Excellence. Daniel's passion for food and wine and his expertise as a restaurateur assure that he will continue to be at the forefront of the Capital District's restaurant and catering landscape.
Whether you’re seeking fine Northern Italian Cuisine, a trip to a charming Wine Restaurant, or freshly prepared take-out items, we are here to serve you at Milano.
